
PERS Members with Past Judicial Service
If you are a PERS member who is not currently serving as judge or justice, you may increase your past judicial service. Your request to increase must be made between January 1, 2009 and June 30, 2009. You do not need to be a JBM participant.

If you are serving as a judge or justice and join PERS membership or re-establish TRS membership on January 1, 2007, or later, you are required to join the JBM Program.
In the JBM Program, you:
If you were in judicial service on December 31, 2006 and January 1, 2007, and a member of PERS Plan 1, 2 or 3 or TRS Plan 1, you had the option of joining the JBM Program. If you elected into JBM, you have the additional option to increase the judicial service credit you earned before joining JBM to the higher benefit multiplier.
